With WrestleMania upon us, it only seemed right to take on a pro wrestling theme with the latest post in this series. I’ve played a ton of wrestling games, both in the arcades and on consoles, but none more memorable than The Main Event!

Retro Video Game of the moment: Shinobi (1987)

Make a video game based on a ninja fighting to save his students from other ninjas, mercenaries, monsters, demons and other bad guys and you’ve got a pop culture phenomenon on your hands.
Sega’s Shinobi* changed everything for me. When it was first released in the arcades in 1987, it was the quintessential side-scrolling action game.
