Welcome to the start of #movieprotocol season here on the Comic Book Chronicles! In this first of a couple, Agent_70 and Roddykat give their spoiler-light impressions of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 to start off the show! And while neither of them took part in Free Comic Book Day, they hope folks that did supported their local comic book shop properly! Speaking of books, there weren’t any Star Wars live-action or animated works to speak of, but there definitely are a few books that Roddykat brings up in the discussion of this week’s new releases! Batman hits a milestone in this week’s Batman #135 (Legacy #900)! Spider-Man receives a shock to the system in Spider-Man #8! DC’s Shazam! tries to stay humble in Shazam! #1!

In the news, the ongoing Writer’s strike impacts a couple of projects, but that many, so far. Actually, it’s just the Blade movie, so far. Raiders of the Lost Ark returns to the theater before Dial of Destiny comes out. Babylon 5 gets an animated movie from series creator J. Michael Straczynski. Jim Lee gets named President of DC Comics! Marvel releases a teaser for the upcoming Ultimate Invasion event! This week’s Spider-Man #8 and Edge of Spider-Verse #1 (of 4) get second printings! #kliqsoftheweek is Groot (and knows Cosmo is a very good dog)!
