Marvel Comics decided it didn’t want to wait until Comic-Con International:  San Diego to announce breaking news.  They let the cat out of the hat a week early on their post-Avengers vs X-Men plans.  Those plans involve a “rebranding” of their line, calling it Marvel NOW!  Don’t confuse it with a reboot or relaunch however.  Marvel doesn’t want to be compared to their competition, DC Comics and their “New 52″ initiative.
